Frankenstein sportster trike

I have an 02 sportster trike, noticed when slowing down, I hear a tapping noise, seems to be coming from rear end. This happened once before and then it just went away. Now it's came back again. Anyone know what this might be? Another thing, this trike's handling is terrible, rides like a tractor down the road. Everyone that has owned a sportster trike has said great things about it, so what's the deal with mine?

when do you get this noise when you are slowing down, accellerating , or is it all the time? as far as your trike riding like a tractor how much tire pressure are you running in those rear tires? in my wife's sportster trike we run 24lbs. in the rear and 36lbs in front. any more than that , rides like a tank. see if you can tell us when you get that noise.

The sound is when you are slowing down ans is constant, a clicking like sound. As far as the handling, it has a 4 degree rake and a 19" tire, you really have to hold the handle bars which are buck horns.

I have a 04 ultra classic with a Frankenstein kit ,I would put it up on jack stands and turn everything over by hand, u mite have a bolt or something touching .look over everything for scrape mark . look over the brake caliper as well. the noise mite be their all the time ,jst cant hear it while running.

My wife loves her Frankenstein converted '07 Sportster 1200 Low. Also have the 4 degree rake trees. Also use the 36 front and 24 rear. Haven't heard any clicking. Have you tightened the rear wheel lugs?
She wishes she'd done it 5 years ago.

On my '09 XL1200 Lehman Raider, I use 36 ~ 38 PSI on the front (so the Pennsylvania potholes don’t bend the rim) and 18 PSI on the rear wheels (205 / 60 R 15" wheels) I bought a 1 - 20 PSI tire gauge at a local airport, to monitor the rear tire pressures.
