I would like to take my 20# dog with me on rides. I haven't come up with a good way to do that, but did look at the Harbor Freight trailers thinking I could build something suitable. I wonder if exhaust fumes would be a problem and would the ride be too uncomfortable for a long ride. Does anyone know of a trailer for sale that would work. I have seen at least one custom carrier for sale, but it is way to expensive.

There used to be a local guy who had a small trailer,maybe 3 ft across & 4 ft long. He put a sloping windscreen and sides of perspex on it & he carried a German Shepard in it. Dog always seemed happy & healthy. Professional dog trailers are towed behind cars so there must be a way around the exhaust fumes.
The Mayor of a town in Tasmania has a Goldwing. He converted the lid of the top box into a prespex sided dog box with vents in the front & sides. Plus a hard lid. Only a small dog though.
