I have a '78 GL1000. A friend and I would like to convert it into a trike. Any and all suggestions (even plans for a modification) are greatly appreciated. We are wanting to keep it simple with a low budget.

Hi there...had a Voyager kit installed on my electraglide 5 yrs ago. Was only $5600.00 completely installed. Only thing I don't like about it is it has no suspension on kit. So makes it alittle rough riding on bumps. But...it was cheapest way to go. Prob still is.

If youre looking for a full kit supposedly Tri-Wing industries still makes them for the 1000. The Voyager and Tow-Pac arent too bad of a kit but Im not sure if they have them for the early wings. I had a Voyager on my 1st trike and it wasnt too bad.

Welcome aboard to you both. There is alot of information on this forum on that subject. Search away. Tow Pac and Voyager are a couple of places to look. Also try Trinity Trikes they might have something that will work very a little more.

Ouch the Voyager is getting pricy I agree with Gloria . for a $1,500 or so more you can go all the way and have a TRIKE. When i did my Voyager on my 1100 Goldwing it was $3,000 and i installed it myself. All I can say it works

Google goldwingfacts. If you join (free) and go to the FAQ forum, there are a couple guys posting pics of their 1500 (very similar) builds. I built a 1200 for my old brother a few years back. Used a mustang II rear & homemade body. Didn't look as nice as them 'factory' jobs, but we only had about $600 in the conversion. Rode good. If your any kind of mechanic, it's not a hard job. Just several smaller ones combined. Trike it; you'll like it!
