I finished the Champion conversion of my Ultra Classic last Friday afternoon. Rode about 150 miles this weekend. It rides and handles great. I'm happy that I chose Champion.

i had my 2007 flhtc converted to a Champion trike in 2011 because of a bad knee and have enjoyed it ever since. once you find the correct tire pressure you desire it will be a great ride to enjoy. i have about 19,000 miles on mine since the conversion and just really like it. the only thing you will have issues with is the low end torque with the 6 speed tranny, it sucks in the mountains. if you can afford it , change the tranny sprocket to a 30 tooth instead of a 32 tooth which is what the bike came with in 2007. in doing so you will be able to ride the now trike in 6th gear a lot more without having to be over 65mph. and you will have much more lower end torque. you will also need to change out the rear belt to a lower tooth also, pain in the ass to change out. just my 2 cents but will make for a much more powerfull bike without cracking the engine open.

I agree that the 2007 and 2008 touring bikes were geared too high to effectively use sixth gear. I installed a set of SE 255 cams along with air cleaner and pipes and that made a great improvement. When I triked my 2007 FLHT, I installed an EFM Autoclutch. Now I can't use sixth gear because the RPMs in sixth gear don't give the centrifugal force necessary to keep the thing from slipping. I live in a fifth gear world.

Champion IRS Trike install questions.

Hope I can get a few comments from anyone who has installed a Champion IRS Trike kit on a Harley ST. I have a 2010 Heritage ST and so far we are finding less than helpful info. Instructions are for baggers or bikes older than I have. Here's where we are running into trouble. Bracket for park brake does not fit in any way on a ST. Lines up perfect for bagger. Passenger foot peg with relocation bracket has NO chance of fitting between exhaust and body. Hubby has a LOT of talent with building just about anything and we are almost done. Just NOT getting help we'd like on a few details.

I didn't bother with the parking brake when I ordered my Champion. If you can remember to activate the parking brake you can remember to leave it in gear.

We all make mistakes. So how would it be if you didnt leave it in gear and forgot to set the brake? Would it be a double mistake? Ive had it happen twice to me on trucks. A Nissan pickup that rolled out of a parking space and hit a telephone poll. Halsted street in Chicago. Very busy street. Only damage was to the door and my pride. Another time it was my F350 crew cab. Rolled out of a gas station across 4 lanes of traffic and in between two parked cars. that one cost me 300 for the guys bumper cover. Both stick shift and forgot to leave in gear and set the brake. i'm sure its happened to others. whether they admit it or not.
