:clapping: So, it took a loooong time but I finally bought my 14” Proaction/DK Customs shocks :D I’m sitting here at my dealer waiting for them to be installed. I really like this dealership. They are a great bunch of guys, however the service manager just came out to talk to me. He said that they have never had anyone change out the shocks on a trike before and asked me what I was trying to achieve :xzqxz: He said he didn’t know if coil over shocks were going to smooth anything out for me. I stood my ground and they are being installed right now.

I have 3 hours to wait so any words of encouragement? I always defer to the experts so standing my ground felt kind of unsettling.

Good for you TGCarol! Florida has a "stand your ground" law, so your covered.

I dislike those wait times at the dealership because I find so much I want.:D

Can't wait to hear the report on the shocks.

Now after they are installed....And they take it for a test ride, And see how well they work,

Then when/if someone else comes in and wants it done, They can say we did it for another customer and it did improve the ride...

Its sorta like when i have a problem and the they say never seen that before....I just tell tell them write to down because this way , When someone Else comes in with that problem you can say ,'Yep we seen that before...[Like Farmers insurance says in their commercials]....:D

I was thinking the same thing Bob. What’s that saying about “great minds...”:D

I’m thinking the test ride guy might have something to say.

Cant wait to hear the results also .

Don't expect them to say you were right and they were wrong.....But then Miracles can happen......

Will your dealer warrant his labor?....:xszpv::Shrug:

This is a "sticky area" for dealerships installing what they refer to as "after market " parts furnished by the customer.:xzqxz:

Ok. I’m home now. I’m disappointed that I didn’t have time for a longer test ride :( I’ve got tree trimmers coming to the house and someone has to be here to pay these guys :gah:

Now to the shocks :D I saw the tech take Bear for his test ride and headed back to the service dept. to wait for him. He could not wait to talk to me. He said he has a bad back and was very impressed with how my Trike rode :D He noticed a huge difference. I talked with him and the service cashier and they want me to call them when I have fully checked them out and give them a report. I bragged on DK Customs. I told them I’ve ordered a bunch of bike stuff from them and have never been disappointed :D

So on to the ride home. Wow :clapping: The tech was right on. Huge difference. First thing I did was go to the gas station. I needed gas but I also wanted to ride it over the humps where they fill the tanks. I always crawl through there. The experience was so much better that I started laughing, drawing funny looks from fellow gas buyers

After that, I headed home trying to hit every little road imperfection along the way. There is also a very rough railroad track on the way that I rolled over with barely any side to side shaking. Much smoother.

Something I didn’t think about was the cornering. My Trike has always been super stable but now it corners like it’s on rails :clapping: Amazing.

I’m going to get out there in the next couple of days and really give it a good test run, but so far I am amazed and very happy with my purchase.

Thanks Kevin.

These shocks are great and I got mine within the first month of owning my TG. I've ridden Harley two wheelers for years and always change out the stock air shocks as I just could not abide the crappy ride. Money well spent. You'll enjoy the improved ride.

Hey Carol!

Yea!........"Glad you gottem'!"

I promise you your ride has just been greatly "Improved!"............now, (if you haven't already) drop your rear tires air pressure to 22 psi and check out the new ride and see what you think!

..So, now you'll become spoiled to the softer trike ride and in a while you'll likely start thinking it's time to replace those front shocks with a better ride too!....I did.....and it did improve the overall ride comfort even more and helped the front end with those road bumps nicely and seemed to overall reduce the normal front end vibrations (for lack of a better description) ....though the front shocks will not be as noticeable of improvement as those rear shock replacements were....their still well worth the money, I think!

....I got the Legend Axeo front shocks and they are great.......But likely there are other ones out there that are good too.....I got mine from Revzilla.com and had HD Dealer install....

......Just something to ponder! ....Even if you don't do the front shocks = You've already got a very superior ride over the Harley stock air shocks.......I hope you agree after some ride time testing.

Cheers!

Hi Rooster :wave4:

I can’t wait to really give these new shocks a workout. I know they’re going to be great :D

I may start working on the front in the future and thanks for the advice, but I think I’m just going to enjoy it for a while. :clapping:

Hey Carol!!!!!:wave4:

Don't blame you a bit for just enjoying the new rear shocks for now..............The front shock replacement really come into play most importantly if you do "LONG" rides, me thinks!

....don't get me wrong, replacing the front shocks are great but they "ARE PRICEY!"..........You'll have a great ride with what-cha'got! (but don't forget it's still a motorcycle)

Cheers!

Going on year two for me. Have the old 13”. When ordering I gave them the weight answers . Not realizing that I’ve been solo riding. So far I’ve loosened them up 4 rounds. With all this wet weather, I haven’t got to really put mileage on the new adjustment or seat break in. Tryin to get it right before the MV trip.

Its a definite improvement, geting them dialed in has been a challenge though.
