I have used them-just a few monthes back. It took 42 days to deliver me a motorcyle I bought on ebay. They were also one of the most expensive quotes I got-but I have had bad luck with the places that are the cheapest carriers. It was bad for me because ebay has a strict 30 day from purchase date buyer protection policy. Long painful story shortend, the bike was misrepresented and had damage not listed by the seller. I went after federal and they did give me a few hundred bucks back-but I had 110.000 in prexisting damages on the bike-guess I lost on that one!!! maybe you will have better luck?
Well it looks like Federal is a joke waiting to happen-but not to me. I went to their quick quote page and set it up as a trike and was quoted $520.00 to ship. Sounds good -right? now when you call them it turns out to be because its a trike $1260.00 dollars because basically they charge you twice what a bike costs. It even gets better. Now they dont have ramps or anything because a trike has to be put on a pallet. So you need either a shipping dock or they told me a tow truck also to lift the trike onto the pallet!!!! Then wherever I'm having it delivered to needs a shipping dock to unload the trike onto. I really think they need to put some additional info on their quick quote page. They have nothing but good reviews from motorcyclists. Maybe someone should have a site telling what its like to try and book a trike to move. And I'm only trying to ship mine 342 miles because I cant seem to come up with someone nearby who can loan me a trailer.
Mick-pull up trikes for sale on eBay, find one, then click on shipping for that trike- you should have a list of several shippers for 3 wheelers. I actually shipped a trike thru DAS a year and a half ago and it was like 689.00 for 700 miles. LOOK at the trikes being sold by dealers imparticular to find the largest variety of shippers.
