Haven't been around much for the last 2 weeks, couldn't see much on the computer.
A month and a half ago I got my eyes checked and the optometrist said those words We all just love to hear - Hmmm...I 'm going to do another test.
Turns out that cataracts
have crept in, and I have had surgery to remove them in the last few weeks. Was more of a hassle than anything else, the worst part was not being able to bend, lift, strain or ride. Never did have any pain at all, and I had about 20/30 vision the day after each surgery an it's getting better.
Doctor says about 4 weeks and the eyes are completly healed. Wouldn't even know that I now have plastic lenses in my eyes except that now I can see without my glasses, unless something is about 4 feet or closer. Then I have to get out the reading glasses. I have some astigmitism, so I'll be getting glasses for that and close work, but I can take them off for riding, driving and such.
I have been nearsighted since the 4th grade, so it is very wierd to take glasses off to see beyond my reach instead of putting them on. Also, for the first time in my life, I can wear cheap sunglasses!
(which is anything less than $175 with my former prescription)
Was nervous, but it is turning out to be a very good thing.
