Exhaust

Took our Stallion to a muffler shop and changed the exhaust. We took the rear cat and little OEM muffler off and installed a stock automotive oval muffler and what a difference. Don't know about the gas mileage but it sure is quite. Didn't really buy it for gas mileage anyway, just for enjoyment of touring around the countryside. Leaving for New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, New Foundland/Labrador on July 22nd towing our Bunkhouse.

What a great trip! That's the half of Canada we haven't toured through yet. Can't wait to see your pictures when you get home! And sounds like your exhaust problem is well taken care of!

Silver Eagle: so you left the CAT off? Interested in knowing what you MPG is agter the mod. Thanks,
We covered this in great detail. It makes it confusing to discuss the same thing twice. Please use the work that we started before you start a new discussion. Please use threads that come close to what you want to discuss before starting a new thread.
Read this entire thread about the CC's.

Whatever...I thought the comments were interesting and I'm not even a Stallion owner.

Does it really matter whether he added it to another old thread or posted it as he did? I would hope it is ok to make a comment without re-reading every thread to make sure someone hasn't already talked about it before.
Not trying to be antagonistic...just realistic.

I thought most people would appreciate the post, but pardom me for upsetting anyone. I didn't know we had a know it all on this board. I was just trying to help anyone that wanted a quieter exhaust. By the way it's a oval muffler 4" x 9" x 16" long with offset inlet and outlets, used the OEM tailpipe, made by Wynne Exhaust Company (#3006) in Wynne, AR. Complete job only cost $80.00. I will post my mileage as soon as I ride it long enough to test the system.

Welcome Silver Eagle. We do appreciate your posts, however we want to keep new information assigned to the proper threads. There is great information on the original thread that covers this topic in great depth. Feel free to add to it. Not telling you what to do to your machine, but be aware that removing the factory installed catalytic converter is both illegal and will void your factory warranty. http://www.epa.gov/otaq/regs/roadbike/420f03045.pdf . It is NOT a recommended modification by this site. This is one of the key items discussed in the previous thread.
