Does anyone know of any exhaust tip inserts that can be temp. installed to quiet exhaust noise. I want something that can be easily installed and removed as needed. :Shrug:

Take a look at these LINK

We have never tried these in a VW, but they work well in motorcycle engines to lower the tone, and quiet the exhaust a bit. They also increase power.

Let us know how they work, and if they don't quiet it enough, return them for a refund.

I installed 4 new short motorcycle baffles in my exhaust on my Subaru powered trike.

Sorry to say, they didnt make a noticable difference. You cant beat proper mufflers. In my case I have a large muffler on each bank of the EA81 engine. I havent got room on the rest of the exhaust to place more mufflers hence the baffles. But IMO they didnt quieten it down.

Cheap enough however and at some revs there could be some minor improvement.
