engine runs crappy

The other day I got some fuel where I usualy don't! Rode about 12 miles shut done for half hour, when I started it again it has run crappy ever since! Figured it was bad fuel. Pulled fuel pump cleaned it ,cleaned tank out and I am on 2nd tank of clean Chevron Premium with K-100 fuel and injector cleaner added! Still is not right, it idles rough and die. And cuts out while riding, but it comes and goes which has me confused! When I check the plugs they are dark carbon fouled so its not starving for gas but also It is better when I give it a little throttle! I torn it down to the air filter and it was full of oil and white milky looking crap and I think the vent tubes are plugged with that crap also!! Would this make it run like I described? Forgot to say this is an 2001 1800 goldwing trike!!!

I had a similar condition on my 2006. The engine would be running fine, then seemingly start doing what you're describing. It took the dealer four hours to find a bad connection at a three wire junction under the seat. Mine was the wire from the clutch handle to two other wires going somewhere that was sometimes making connection and sometimes not. Hope this helps.
