Engine Idle Temperature Management System (EITMS)

Went on our first good ride last night after the stage one upgrade was completed by our dealer on Friday. Weather in the Houston area was cool enough for a light jacket. Bike ran great and everything was good until we got stuck in slow moving traffic for about 25 minutes. After about 10 minutes of just barely moving it appeared the engine was getting hotter that normal and I was getting enough heat on my legs where it was uncomfortable. My wife was getting less heat on the back than she did before the V&H power duals and mufflers. I did not think too much about it until today when I remembered reading about the EITMS feature. I checked and found that the mechanic had disabled the EITMS when he did the stage one upgrade with the SE super tuner. I enabled the EITMS and hope this was what was causing the heat issue when idling. Now, can someone tell me when if ever the EITMS should be disabled. It appears to me that it should be enabled all of the time to keep the engine cooler when idling.

I find it more of a personal decision For the EITMS. It does help some when in stop & go traffic. It turns itself off when you just touch the throttle, so there isn't any interference to the running of the engine. Some people don't like the sound of the engine when it kicks in, but if you don't know what just turned on it just sounds like a rough running engine. Use it as a signal to let you know you might need to do something about moving along & finding some air.
I keep mine on all the time, doesn't bother me at all. And as I said it does help somewhat for the rear cylinder heat. Not much, but every bit helps !!

There should not be a need to disable it. But it is left up to each person to do as they want. I got 22,000 miles on mine and haven't disabled my EITMS. Some people say they disable it because they think it makes the engine sound like crap when it kicks in. The mechanic may have disabled it so it would not kick in while on the dyno while idleing during the tune. But that's just a guess on my part.

Ok maybe a stupid question, but how do you enable, or disable the EITMS? I was not aware this was an option.
Update: Answered my own question, Pg 126 in the manual :)

I don't assume it could be installed on my 2005 Ultra is there?

No it isn't, at least not in the form as we know it starting with the 07 MY. Before that they used a 3 phase management system. 1st phase at 160c head temp it will reduce the idle until it cools down or reaches 800 rpm. The 2nd phase at 170c it will richen the AFR, the 3rd phase will happen if the temp reaches 180c. This final phase will alternately interrupt the fuel to each cylinder with hopes of pumping cooler air into the cylinder, it will only do this while you are stationary.
