ebay de-catted header?

I've seen people mention a few times that they got "that $120 de-catted header from ebay" but I cannot for the life of me find the thing. Can someone point me in the right direction? A search term to use, something?

I saw a few, but none said they would fit the FLRT. I'm mostly concerned with the o2 sensor ports. Are those universal on the touring models?

I purchased one of the $120.00 Cat free head pipes off of Ebay. Excellent piece and workmanship plus super fast shipping. It fit perfectly with all O2 sensors in correct place. Same part number on pipe even. All late touring pipes will fit the Freewheeler.

The cats are down stream of the sensors.. So decating wouldn't effect them...
As far as fit thats a good question..:Shrug: Most of those are for the Tri-Glide..

I would have a problem with how well they get all
the honeycomb out. I did a few. It's time consuming if done right. I just got a new FW yesterday. This time I'm getting the Fullsac Sport. $399 then $100 core charge refunded when you send back your pipe.

I looked at the fullsac headers, but unfortunately they don't ship to California.

I was referring to placement of the holes, size, etc.
 
So I've messaged 3 different sellers on ebay with these headers, and the 2 that have replied so far have redirected me to another listing (more expensive of course) that they have that specifically says it's for Trikes or Triglides.

Are they yanking my chain here or is the Triglide / FLRT actually a slightly different header?

TG and FW headers are the same.

The information you stated here is not correct. The cat is upstream of the o2 sensors.

The o2 sensors on the late model touring Harleys including the Freewheeler are behind the cat. The cat is in front of both the front and rear o2 sensors. Look at your header and you will see both the o2 sensors just behind the cat. The cat is just behind where the rear or back cylinders header pipe drops in to the header collector intersecting with the front cylinders pipe. All is covered by chrome heat shields.

The next thing you will see after the o2 sensors as the header pipe goes towards the rear of the bike is the cross over pipe connection going to the second muffler. Also there is only one cat in the factory header.

NOTE. 2-27-16.. I stand corrected, sorry rhino 2 it was late when I replied to this. I mis looked at my header for some stupid reason. Yes the o2 sensors are just upstream of the cat. My apology.

I think we have a little confusion here. The cat is BEHIND the 02 sensors. 3.5 inches to be exact.
 
From what I see in the 2012 parts book, the header O2 sencers are b4 the cat. Same for CA models. CA models have a EVAP system added. Also some early models had the cat in the mufflers, not the head pipes. Only on touring models.

Yes you are correct.

I stand corrected it was late when I replied to this. It was low light in the garage and I mis looked at my headers configuration. I should have said the o2 sensors where just upstream of the cat in the collector where the two head pipes front and rear come together in the head pipe.

Sorry all for the added confusion.

Well, I got one from a seller named "hdheaders" on ebay. I specifically asked him before purchase "Can you confirm if this will fit the 2015 Freewheeler (FLRT) trike?" and his reply was "Yes it will". I ordered, got it in, and spent last weekend getting it installed (yes, the whole weekend... whoever designed that %()*&$% rear muffler hanger needs hauled into the street and beaten with a baseball bat. That is outright absurd and completely unreasonable to be that hard to work with... /rant over) and I discovered that buying a "cheap" pipe from ebay means you get what you pay for.

Not only was the pipe slightly bent, so I suspect that my exhaust gaskets aren't quite sealed, but the end of the pipe just past the cat was about 3/4 of an inch shorter than the stock pipe so I ended up having to loosen the muffler -> header connector pipe and slide it forward a bit to make sure I didn't end up with an exhaust leak.

Needless to say, I'm not very pleased with the process and the quality of the product I got, but the pipe is on there and it does sound better than stock. Now I just need the damned weather to cooperate so I can go put some miles on it and get it retorqued right and ensure I don't have any leaks. :)

I'm one of the lucky guys I guess. I have a friend with a plasma cutter and welder. Took my FW to his garage and removed the heat shields and cut a hole in the exhaust over the catalytic converter and chiseled, pryed, well it was harder than I expected. Took us little over an hour to just get it all out. Then we welded the metal back together and painted it. You can't tell it was done afterward. It increased the exhaust sound quite a bit. It didn't have any noticable effect in the engine, power, or gas mileage.
 
Yes there is, And more so when done in conjunction with a Stage 1....At least on my 11 Tri...It did.ThumbUp
