Driveshaft maintenance on CSC

What is involved in removing rear driveshaft to lube on CSC Cobra trike? Mine has the updated driveshaft kit installed.

Sorry to butt in on your post.....BUT I will be keeping my eyes open also, on some of answers/suggestions given..too you (Good question by the way.....I have a Roadsmth trike, but i imagine that a driveshaft is a driveshaft.............

I have a CSC trike that i just retuurned from a trip from Indiana to Newfoundland and back. During the trip a friends mototrike driveshaft failed. It got me thinking about mine so i jacked it up and inspected it, all seemed ok. I contacted CSC asking about shaft life why no grease joints. They responded it has sealed joints that are over engineered and should be good for 50k miles. Being i saw no issues i left it alone. Guess time will tell. One good thing i did see was the shaft is a simple 1 piece shaft with joints that should be easy to find replacements. In fact now that I'm thinking about it I believe I may purchase 2 just in case.

Being it’s a easy on - off install , repack the caps with high temp sticky grease , should be good to go. :Shrug: Providing they are the hollow cross joints.

I think CSC went with Spicer for the new driveshaft update. I noticed no grease zerks so figured if the joint was sealed they probably like most trucks today that are long life non serviceable.

Still probably good idea to drop it and lube the front splines
