GOOD MORNING .Well my dream is finally happening. Since I retired from G.M. in Michigan after work 32.5 yrs there. We moved to Minn to be closer to 3 out 4 of our kids. Not what I really wanted to do BUT!. Wife talked me into it after a long talk. I was ok with it IF we would still go to AZ for the winter months. And we did that since 2000 every winter. Two yrs ago I sold both of my Hot Rods and we bought a Park model home in a RV resort. This place is FANTASTIC RESORT.

People are so friendly you'd think they were the step ford wife's and husbands. lol. That was 3 yrs ago now. But we finally decided that after hearing about this winter from our kids. Plus not leaving till after Christmas we get a full 6 weeks of winter our selfs. So last week we finally got the place in SELLING shape. Called the Realtor our daughter just used on Weds. Before the sign even went up. It was sold on Fri after her and her husband came back together to see it. So NOW we can get our stuff together and finally MOVE TO ARIZONA epper:.Were both so damn happy it isn't funny.

So we have to be out of here by the end of next month. Then we'll stay with our daughter and her family till Sept and then head out. Our grand kids are NOT happy at all. Which makes us fell good and sad. Well sad till my ass hits that Arizona dirt epper:.Ok Thanks for letting me rant on. Means a lot to me ThumbUp

Thanks guys .We've been going to Arizona now since 1977. We have a place in Surprise, Az now for 3 yrs. It's a park model home in a RV resort. It's a very cool place to hang out. Were going to sell that place also and buy a nice 2 bdrm 2 bath ranch home in Sun City area. We already know the area. Plus we have family and friends there or close by. There will be plenty of time for ridin once we get there. Counting the days epper:

​YUP Dave that's it. We bought a place in there. LOVE the Tiki Bar they have in the middle of the place. Live bands on M w & F. Burgers and chips. COLD Beer and wine while you either dance or sit and shoot the breeze. The most friendliest people I ever ran across. Can't wait to get back there. epper:

Rollin'Thunder! We are both so happy for our BFFs that I write this with tears in my eyes...not sad tears at all but happy tears! And hopeful tears for us to sell our home as well! Can't wait to see you two again!

Thanks everyone for the kind words. I've been trying to get my wife to move out to Az since I retired ( 2000). I never gave up on the Idea of moving out to the valley of the Sun. I hate snow. I don't like cutting grass, I hate being so cold you can't do anything. I love have have a clean truck ,car & motorcycle for days on end. Not like here where every time you go out. Your truck, bike or car gets bug infested ! Giving my snow shovel away & my snow blower, My lawn tractor will go to a good home. Buying a Calif duster for all the toys. We pan on buy a nice little 2 bdrm 2 bath home in Sun City Az. Again Thanks for all the kind words

Rick, I'd love to move to Az, for the very same reasons as you. I've never be able to convince Cathy to move there, though, so it's just a pipe dream for me. She's stuck on this "seasons" thing...I told her the desert has seasons, too. She doesn't get it.

Phoenix area has a LOT of custom builders, so I'm sure there's plenty for you to check out. Enjoy!

I hope you enjoy your new home. I have seen a lot of people going to Arizona in their later years but now it's getting like Florida was years ago. But if you found a place you like that is great. I guess I am still going to freeze during the winter here in the U.P. I do like the change of season, but winter seems to last longer every year. This last year was a real rough one.
