Ever walk into a room with some purpose in mind, Only to completely forget what the purpose was?
Turns out doors themselves are to blame for these strange memory lapses. Psychologists at the University of Notre Dame have discovered that passing through a Doorway triggers what's know as an ''Event Boundary'' In the mind, Separating one set of thoughts and memories from the next. Your brain files away the thoughts you had in the previous room and prepares a blank state for the new locale....
Thank goodness for study's like this, So' it's not our age after all....

It's that dam door!!.....

That's the problem, Great, I'll take the door off going into the cellar, because once I get down there, I forget why I went down.
Stupid doors!

I can relate to that. A few yrs ago 14...I went from the kitchen to the garage. Almost 20 yrds away. Got in the garage and forgot what I wanted out there. came back in the house. Stood there for a few mins & Ohhh yeah. Walked back out there. Got to my work bench and wondered what I needed !!!! Went back in the house sat down and drank my coffee. Then I dawned on me!!! I wrote it down on my note pad by the phone! Sad part about that is my wife came in and asked what I was doing :(.... I told her and she said its time for a trade in. WHAT:laugh:

I told Janice, the day I find the car keys in the freezer, she is going to the little padded room where the people with white jackets live! LOL
Like that is going to happen!

I'm ready for that. At least I used to be able to escape from a real strait jacket. I'm sure my shoulders and rotator cuff are in the same condition as 30 odd (very odd) years ago.
I wonder if I can blame those Les Nesman (WKRP) doors for all my other memory failures? :qpnmt:

The problem isn't that you forget where you put the keys, Or where you put them' The problem is when you ''do'' find them , You don't know what they are used for... :xzqxz:

Yeah??? Well if that's true, why is it that I can be talking about some subject while sitting down and not moving into another room and then all of a sudden, I forgot what I was going to say??:laugh:
