I noticed that ISIS has taken credit for the attack in Garland, Texas. They are truly crazy as the two automatic weapon carrying gunmen did was get themselves shot by a cop with a single pistol.

Don’t Mess With Texas

Texan's aren't too big on political correctness and are fiercely proud and protective of its citizens. Yall have no idea how well armed and trained Texas citizens and law enforcement are and this is the last place on earth terrorists will get away with attacking its citizens. There were multiple layers of heavy security in place and this was expected, well prepared for and the jihadist muzzies were quickly dispatched by a veteran 60 year old traffic cop with a couple of double taps from his handgun. meh...

I love Texas and the attitude of those who live there. I'm so glad my son and his family are moving back to Houston next month and they are too. 2 years living near Washington DC was driving them crazy.

I have lived here just 8 months and I'm here to tell you, every state could learn some lessons from Texas. There is a pride and sense of independence that I have never seen in any other state. The people are friendly and surprisingly (or not) there are a LOT of cops on horses!

Every Thu our gun club has CHL training.....how to draw your gun and shoot proficiently. We first run around the block a couple 3 times to get the heart rate up then engage targets both good and bad from various locations and stances. Practice drawing out concealed weapon under pressures situations. Also practice off hand shooting a lot.

Yep, we try to stay ready for either those wearing head towels or blue helmets.

I once saw a bumper sticker that read " I wasn't born in TEXAS but I got here as QUICK as I could"... Pretty much sums it up for me.:xszpv::xszpv:

Lovin' this Thread.....:Trike1:.....and Tennessee isn't a good place to try to pull off Terrorist Acts or Un-Patriotic/Anti-American Acts either.....!!!!!!

Bravo to the traffic cop. And there is a certain activist who wants to disarm law enforcement. Sigh. Texans pretty much take seriously - "A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed." If there is another place where the citizenry is as well armed "legally" in the U.S., as Texas, I don't know where it is. The 2nd Amendment is for more than just protecting the citizens from a government. Terrorists (foreign and domestic) beware.

I was born & raised in Southern Oklahoma until 1980,then moved to Texas. Lots of other states have as good or better gun laws, though, especially Arizona,Tennessee, and a few others. I doubt if it will happen anytime soon but Texas needs to allow Constitutional Carry of handguns, like Arizona and other states.

The housing subdivision I live is pretty well armed, even automatic weapons including a few belt-feds. ;)

I'm with you 100% on the open carry but will never open carry myself. I just want the law in place to protect against accidental showing of weapon. Open carry creates a lot of John Wayne types as illustrated in the numerous YouTube videos of people carrying long guns in the open, which is legal in Texas. But seriously walking into WalMart with an AK or AR slung over your shoulder isn't really that smart......I know it's legal but smart....NO!!!! And walking down the road with the same weapon exposed is going to get you the attention you're wanting including LEO's. All these cowboys are doing is creating a lot of problems for themselves and others.

Another look. You're setting in a place of business with your new 1911 proudly strapped on your hip in your new custom made Dan Weston leather holster. The bad guys walks in.....who does he shoot first, the waitress with the glasses of water and peanut parfaits or the fellow with his new 1911 ?? Who's gun does he take with him and tosses his $5.00 25cal Saturday night special.

Like I said I'm 100% for open carry but be smart. Should also mention I've carried since the Texas CHL law came into effect in 1995. And for some 8-10 years prior to that in a drug enforcement capacity.

I mentioned nothing about open carry. Arizona and some other states can carry concealed without the need for a CHL. Personally,I don't think you should need permission from the state to exercise a right. But,since you mentioned an open carry scenario, why not consider another one. Bad guy walks into a restaurant and sees half the room carrying. Still think he feels froggy?

It's obvious you don't think much for open carry. Except in certain circumstances, I probably don't plan to do so.

Sure don't ever hear much about states that have had legal open carry for awhile. Texas doesn't even have it yet and yet all I ever hear is handwringing and woe. Freedom is a scary thing to most politicians and liberals/progressives.

come to wyoming, i dont need a concealed carry permit but you may want to wave with all your fingers round these parts?

In most circles I run in "constitutional carry" is considered the freedom to carry either concealed or openly without state provisions. Thus my mention of open carry.

:xzqxz:
Hi-Jacked you say,,,,,
Ironic
How many of us in this Thread were carrying and are you Open or Concealed?

Personally, I do both.
At the same time.
:D
Either way or both.... It's all Good Fellers ThumbUp

If ISIL decided to tackle any American town, so many people have weapons at home and don't need to wait for a military intervention. I'm not saying that the general public can wage a war against a foe, although I do know some people that could arm a platoon and have leftovers. If ISIL decided to wake us up, it would be a big mistake.
