Electraglide and I were on the losing end of an argument with a car fender, which led to a few operations and a bout with MRSA, which led to an artificial knee, which led to my deciding that 35 years of riding was enough balanced against the possibility of that flaky knee collapsing under the 'glide.

5 years passed.

Then the wife and I went up to see our daughter at Ellsworth Air Force Base. During the Sturgis 75th. And they had demo rides. And I climbed onto a Freewheeler.

And the wife took one look at my face. And we hugged the daughter, climbed back into the pickup, and headed for home. *After* we stopped 50 miles from home at a Harley dealership.

Amber Whiskey, windshield, passenger backrest, and after yesterday and today, engine guard with footpegs, cup holder, phone charger and mount.

Re: Another New Member

Hello Red and welcome to the website from the U.P. of Michigan. I am happy to hear that you are once again enjoying the knees in the breeze. I came to riding a trike after an accident. I was riding a Gold Wing home after work when a kid crossed the center line and hit me head on. I spent 2 years having 9 surgeries, but after all the slicing and dicing, I got another GW with a Lehman conversion. It took a few miles to get the difference but I love the stability and traction. Of course my fuel milage dropped a little because of the 2 sails called fenders but not bad. I would suggest that you practice with your new trike in an empty parking lot. Set up some type of markers about 50 ft apart, and practice figure 8s.

That will get you used to the extra width of the rear end, which you really need to watch when you need fuel.

Those yellow posts seem to to jump right out at you! Ride safe.

Thanks to all for the welcome!

Not much on the computer.

Busy fighting fires & killing snakes, more later.

Welcome to the forums Red, definitely post some pics when you have a chance.

So glad you were able to find your way back. Totaled 2 within 9 weeks back in 2011 and have been on 3 wheels ever since. You will like it. Take the time to get properly adjusted to 3 wheels. Pictures asap.

Not a problem here... up until a few months ago, I was a smart car driver... I'm used to driving something the width of my armspan :)

Okay, enough foot-baking heat and overly quiet riding. Got parts incoming... Fullsac DX headers, Rinehart 4" pipes, V&H fuelpak tuner, and freeflow air cleaner that will fit in the stock can. Pictures and impressions when installed!

Already installed the Wolo air horn... for those thinking about it, yes, you do need to install the relay!

Howdy Red... seems Harley ownership induces some sort of mental irregularity bwhahahaha Nice to have another neighbor on the board! I live in NE Medina Co. up by Medina Lake. Also the Harley trike is purdy... nice pic of you with the bike and your daughter hehe wg

Now that you have your "Second Wind", breathe deeply and keep those wheels a rolling..........on down to Kerrville next weekend and meet some other deep breathers!

Got a rough schedule? If I do make it up there, might only be for a while, might catch you along the road somewhere or something along those lines...

Red, What do you do? Once you start riding the 3s, it ain't easy bumping into someone.
