Dobeck Performance TFI Controllers?

I know there is quite a bit written on this site about tuning; but I haven't actually seen anything written on the site that addresses what I am interested in.

I would like to add a tuning solution to my stock 2013 TG just to cool it down and improve performance. I'm not looking to do any mods at the moment to the exhaust or engine; just to tune it some.

On another board, the Dobeck TFI tuner is heavily hyped. And the cost is just uder $250. But I'm a little concerned as I would expect at that price point that everyone would be pushing it on the boards.

But here on TrikeTalk I've never seen it mentioned. Does anyone here have any expereience; or know someone who has? Especially using it on a stock trike?

Just as an observation most of on this board are a little older (not all of us) and are looking for quality not cheap, im not saying the dobeck is not any good, but brings to mind the old adage "you get what you pay for".

Later on you will more than likely want to do other things to your TG. Why not double the money, & have something that will be able to adapt to the changing environment with accuracy you can depend on?
Like a Dyno Jet Vision, or TTS unit.

Give Jammie a call, or email @ fullsac.com & he will tell you the differences & explain the reasons for each type of tuner they sell. But think quality. Like Icebite1 told ya, "you only get what you pay for" ! And more so when it comes to tuners ! Quality counts here !

Did you mean Jammie at fuelmotousa.com?

Ok, the FuelMotoUSA site actually has a similar tuner on sale for $200; which is even less then the Dobeck.

But has anyone here actually used one of these tuners on a stock bike?

I can (and probably will) call FuelMotoUSA and Dobeck; but I expect each of them to tell me their product is better. So what I really need is someone who has actually used any of these units on a stock bike?

Great people to deal with and tell him your setup and he will most likely sent you the map you need for the tuner..That is the Fuelmoto site.

I've always steered clear of those types of tuners, accuracy is kind of like tossing rocks and trying to hit something small in the distance. At least you wouldn't be out much if it doesn't work out.

Those are not really tuners, they only adjust the pulse sent to the fuel injectors at different rpm's. They don't adjust the timing or rev limit at all. Like it's been said "You get what you pay for".

None of the tuners "Automatically" adjust timing or rev limit but the higer end units give you the "option" to set them where you want.

Tuners with autotune such as the ThunderMax and PowerVision probably give you the most options and ease of adding upgrades but also cost the most.
