YES...!!!!..."but" Mitzie's knee issues (eventually one knee replacement) led us to looking at other avenues. Besides riding Motorcycles, Trikes, and Scooters 46+ years of my life, I was a Life-long Bicycle Rider also since age 4. Bicycle Riding, and especially Recumbent Trike and now Quad Bicycle Riding, made a great change in Her knees and overall general health.

It has been good for me also bringing my weight from 184 pounds to a constant 152 pounds with average blood pressure now of 115/76 at 66 years old, and a tireless amount of daily energy. I also cook about 90% of Our meals with eating out becoming much less frequent. Between Bicycles and Weight Lifting, virtually no salt or sugar (yeah, there's always a few "falling off the wagon days"...), We Both feel GREAT...!!!!!!...

We started riding Bicycles so often, the Trike, Motorcycles, and Scooters were mostly sitting (which I hated...Motorcycles should be ridden daily), so We finally sold All of Them...:(...We have occasionally kicked around the idea of purchasing another Trike, but "so far" have resisted the urge.

I still get offered "Demo Rides" on Local Friend's Trikes, and my Two Favorites have been a Honda F6B Gold Wing with a 2-wheel front conversion, and I enjoy Slingshots...:)..."but" again, We have acquired a really large "bicycle arsenal" consisting of (1) Recumbent Tandem Trike, (3) Recumbent Quads, (1) Recumbent Trike, (1) 2-wheel Tandem, (2) Road Bikes, (1) Gravel/Cyclocross Bike, (2) 7-speed Cruisers, and (2)Fixie Single Speed Bikes leaving little time for Other Sports/Hobbies...

I fully retired now since Dad and I sold the Salvage Yard last year, and Mitzie will be retiring in about 16 more months...will we get another Trike sometime in the future, "We will see", because We Really, Truly Miss ALL of Our Many, Many Friends We made here at TRIKE TALK...

I loved being a Moderator, Ride Planner, and Ride Leader here, a Definite Highlight of my Life, and I've been blessed with many...Hope to see some of You soon, skuuter…:)...and here's a photo of my Newest Ride...59211493_2452427028101929_3208199411716849664_n.jpg

David, really a neat read you've posted. At 86 I feel my knees giving out a bit, especially the stair climbing. I'm a bit of bicycle nut that keeps on trying, maybe 20 miles a day if I'm in the zone and the wind ain't blowing me all over the place. I foolishly bought a Focus carbon fiber racing bicycle, why you ask, I don't know.

I could not make it fit, duh! So it's on the market, got the Verve 3 Trek which weighs close to 30 lbs, vs the Focus which weighs close to 16. But guess what, the Trek fits, the Focus did not as much as I tried. Yep, I'm still riding the Road Smith GW conversion, just not as much, wife love to ride on the pillion, so I'm not selling as long as she likes the ride, and I can drive the thing with the safety factor in mind. Again, good post, thanks for dropping by and sharing.

Bill
