I am currently converting a 2013 sportster into a trike, I have a DNA axle for it but during shipment its shipping frame broke, the axle is fine but the damned thing landed on the diagram that came with it. The diagram is destroyed and DNA is not responding to my e-mails and I can't find the diagram on the internet anywhere. So if anyone has the diagram please post it or send it to me .

I have a 2003 Sportster with a DNA trike axle and want to install a smaller than the 70 tooth pulley that came on it.

Can anyone direct me to a source where I could purchase such item?

I am looking to go 61 to 64 teeth.

DNA Trike Conversion Question about Bolt or Stud?

all

I have seen several discussions related to using a DNA rear axle.

I saw posted this part number being discused

napa 641-3132

when I pull this part number it comes back as M12-1.5 Wheel Bolt - 17mm Hex, 29.5mm Length

So my question is, does the axle use bolts for the wheels or studs?

many thanks

Darin

Where can I find the test specifications for the brake anb swing arm for my dna rear axle

Raymund, Welcome to Trike Talk from West Virginia, USA.:wave4::wave4:

DNA rear axles have been around for 15-20 years and I would imagine you could contact them via email for that information.

This is the first time that I recall anyone questioning the test specs.

As I live in Australia we are required to supply an Engineer's report to make this easier if I could obtain any test data on the brakes and axle this would be much appreciated.

Hi Raymund,

Welcome to Trike Talk

I just went through this... got a hold of a trike I knew nothing about and learned a bunch...

Unfortunately not specs etc, but like someone mentioned, DNA will be helpful, and also I found ArtInMotion to also be very familar with DNA and helpful.

Thank you for the phone number. I have not been able to get through to them for a month now. Their message box is full. The company I bought the swing arm and axle from haven't been able to reach them either. I have to make a decision within a few days whether to continue with those parts or return them. Just need info. There is no instructions available . The set came with two loose brackets that we assume are for shocks but no hint as to where they should go. I ordered 4 caliper brakes, got two caliper. Stock bushings don't fit. Not real impressed right now.

FLH/FLT Harley

If the stock bushings don't fit, you might not have gotten the correct swingarm.

2001 and earlier used a different bushing, while the 2002 and later used a spherical bearing instead.

A note of caution when using the later swingarm (2002 and later) for a trike, get a swingarm stabilizer kit so that stress on the transmission case won't be a problem in the future.

Who sold you the swing arm and axle kit?

DNA rear shocks

Welcome aboard!!

We just finished an install of a DNA kit on my 97 FLH. We used stock shocks, I was not happy with how high it sat and the trike has a terrible low speed wobble. We ordered an air ride suspension kit for it, lowering it 4” in the rear. This should give me a little more rake and hopefully smooth out the wobble. What are you running for shocks??

We just finished a DNA conversion. Took it for a test ride yesterday, trike has very bad low speed wobble. We gonna tighten the neck and lower the rear 4”, in hopes of increasing the rake. If anyone can offer some advice it would be appreciated.
