Dirty Air Filter

I checked my air filter when I did the 1k service and now doing the 5k service and the filter is filthy. Looks like a lot of oil blow by. I got a K&N filter so I could clean it and I guess I will have to keep an eye on the filter from now on. I started looking at external breather to catch can kits. I want to keep the stock air cleaner box so that maybe a show stopper.

If your keeping the oil level at the top line, That could be the blow-bye cause. The Spyder i had and they were notorious for filling the air box with oil i just keep it a half quart low, And that ended the blow-bye.. Did that on my Sportster' Victory. And i do that on my Tri-Glide. And i had over 35 thousand miles on the air filter before i changed it..

I have a newer Design that DK is working on right now for the M8 using the stock back plate DK is very user friendly and I am looking forward to meeting these guys, they are 6 hrs from me
