The ("good") people of Washington state did something similar when I-90 was being updated. Mercer Island is an up-scale island community in the middle of Lake Washington which borders the eastern boundary of Seattle. Well, when I-90 that bisects the island, needed updating the rich and famous of Mercer Island were all up in arms about dividing "their" homes. So what they did was to dig a BIG trench across the island. Then they placed the interstate below ground level and covered it. Essentially making a tunnel. Then they made parks and streets above the "tunnel" so no one would know it was there. And, did you know...... At the time, it was the most expensive section of interstate per foot ever to be constructed..... Jim

Pretty hard to imagine there being more horses in Jersey than in Lexington, KY, or Ocala, Fl as both consider themselves the horse capital of the world.
