Went to the dentist monday had not been for a few years with what was all going onwith my wife. Bad news they all have to come out, I was not surpised.

Because of the blood pressure medicine and cholesterol medicine I take the dentist wants to check with my family doctor and heart specialist to see if he can take them out are if it should be done by a oral surgeon in the hospital.

Have no idea what it is all going to cost. I do not have dental insurance, and I know medicare does not pay for any regular dental work.I do not know wheather they will pay for a oral surgen and the hospital if I have to go that way.

Do not like any of the idea but have no choice.
:(:(:(:(

I hate to hear that Jim but it sounds like taking them out must be the healthiest thing for you to do. Let us know what the verdict is ok?

Jim, There is a very good possibility that there is a medical reason to have this procedure done --- for example, infection in your gums that will surely cause other serious complications if it is not resolved. If that is the case, the hospital and oral surgeon would most likely be covered by your medicare policy. If your doctor can document the medical need rather than limiting it to dentistry, you may well get a good response from medicare. Good luck!

Man I feel for you!! Just went through that a couple of weeks ago --- NO fun at all!!! Still eatin' soup & soft stuff. Hell of it is I'm headed to "Rendezvous" where I can find just about any kind of wild game immagionable on the menu -- Elk, Buffalo, Venison, Rattle Snake & of course beef, pig & chicken --- & I CAN'T chew!!!! :( I LOVE Buffalo & Elk! Rattle Snake is pretty tasty too if cooked right. Gota be happy with Spam, "puppy peters", & etc.

Sorry to hear that Jim, I too hope Nanas suggestion helps.
But don't be to depressed, my dear brother, who is no longer with us, lost his teeth in a severe car accident in his mid 40s. He couldn't afford dentures, so he never got any. You haven't lived till you've seen a man eat a steak without the aid of teeth, but he did it all the time.
Lord I miss him.
Sorry to get off topic, I guess your post just made me think of him.
I hope you recover from the surgery quickly and that medicare will help with the bills. I know what a pain in the back side they can be.
Good luck.

I hear ya on the NO insurance! I had to get dentures a little over a year ago.
I took out what is called Care Credit. Search Carecredit.com on line. At least this way you can pay it off in payments. Mine was interest free so that also helped.
