Dash Turn Signal Indicator

I just don't like where the Freewheeler dash turn signal indicators are located. I have to take my eyes off the road to see if my blinkers are flashing. I wanted to add LED indicators to the area around where the fork lock is located. The local Harley dealer told me doing so would probably result in the bike throwing codes. I'm not mechanical at all, but I don't know why that would happen since I have already turned all my turn signal/running and brake lights to LEDs.

For you experts out there, do you think the dealer is correct?

When you drive a car do you take your eyes off the road to see if your signal indicator lights are on? Or your high beam? You can see your fork mounted blinkers working from the riders position. Now if you want to exercise that credit card order a Dakota Digital MLX speedometer and be done with it. Plug and play.

Wow! My first post and I didn't get a warm welcome. To respond... Yes, I can see my fork mounted blinkers working from the rider position. But no, I can't see them during daylight. Yes, I take my eyes off the road to look at my turn signal dash indicators in my truck. But... I don't have to tilt my head down to see a weak green arrow that is barely visible in daylight on the console on top of my gas tank. Sheesh!

It's a cold world lad. You want warm get a puppy. But you could tap into the blinkers and run a wire up to whatever led indicator lamps you chose. Right at the fork mounted blinker. Use posi taps. IDK if it will throw a code- so what you know what it is. Report back on how it went.

Thanks for the response Old Road Dog. I know it is a cold world. I have been walking this earth for over 7 decades. Don't need a warm puppy. I have plenty of lap dogs. Your suggestion is exactly what I thought I would need to do. I was asking for thoughts from those who have more mechanical knowledge than I. Yes, I will report back on how it went. Thanks again for your response.
