Cusion Drive?

I did a "huh?" when I first read this. Never heard of that before. Is it some sort of limited-slip differential?

Item number 6 in the picture is the isolators they use. The whole idea is to soften some of the pulses from the engine. If you have the service manual you will also see there is a periodic check to perform for wear.

Wow!! I wasn't aware they had the isolated drive system on Triglides. It was on my Ultra prior to the conversion but I honestly cannot feel any difference, as regards engine pulses, since triking it. Maybe they're being absorbed in the differential???

Thanks for the replies guys, that helped me out a bunch. See thread on new trike.

This concept has been around for a long time. Harley had never used it up until recently, but you use to find it on metric bikes....and even 3-wheelers.

Had the cusion drive on my Screaming Eagle Ultra prior to triking and I also cannot tell any difference. Remember I had a Honda back in the seventies that had such a system so it is nothing new to biking.
