how many of you own csc trykes with the supertrapp
style csc mufflers ? just found out you cant use your stock ones on these kits. am hoping to tryke my cross roads and want it quiet. will at csc say about an 8 decibel increase in
noise w/all 12 discs in. what do you guys have to say about it on your trykes. might have to go back to looking at roadsmith. even the salesman at csc said that would be the only other one he would buy. thanks for any help.--irv

Do you have stock exhaust on Crossroads now? CSC type mufflers are definitely NOT loud. I hardly notice them at all.

yep. ive always run stock. with wife riding 99% of the time,
its nce to be non annoying to others. every harley that passes me has to downshift and blast by. ive always figured
loud pipes never made a bike look any better.

I've had a Daytona Kit for over 40K miles and I don't find the muffler load at all. under acceleration, they be a touch louder than stock. That's all. With the Roadsmith kit you would have more muffler option available. Ride Safe!

We have a CSC Kruze made from our Kawi 1700 Nomad. The CSC Supertrapp exhaust is not loud at all. It has a pleasant, deep rumble that my wife and I can talk over without any issues. Like KRUZR said, they are a little louder than stock under hard acceleration but it is not what I would call loud.

i had csc send me muffler pics. they make their own w/supertrapp componenents...their exhaust runs through the suspension. roadsmith goes underneath.you can use stock mufflers or anything else.. you can add or subtract discs from csc mufflers to change the exhaust note.

Do you still have the pix from CSC? If so would you share them with us? Thank you.

Yes, that is correct. CSC puts 12 discs as you stated earlier into their mufflers. That is the recommended number of discs for larger displacement motorcycle engines but can be added/subtracted to change exhaust note. It will also change the overall performance of the motorcycle.

I think if you heard them you would be satisfied with them. We get compliments on the sound of our trike all the time. Like I said before, it has a pleasant, deep rumble.

I wasn't there for the kit attachment to the frame and I'm not sure I could have gotten a clear shot that what you're looking for. These 2 are as close as I have.

I took several more but only posted what I thought might show the salient points. If you are looking for something else just ask, I may have it.

Sway bar

Because I was in the shop today with the camera, I took some more shots trying to get something more meaningful of the sway bar. Sorry to say they didn't show anything meaningful.

CSC's SuperTrapps and other stuff

OK, I've got 600 mi. on the trike now. Some 200 smile days will do that. ;) While I still don't think the pipes are too loud, they are definitely louder than drilled out stocks. On short rides I will brave the elements with my modular helmet. For the longer ones I may add ear plugs.

Most of the 600 were on by-ways because a) I prefer them and b) I'm still learning my way around here. It took no time at all to make the 2 to 3 wheel transition. In fact I pretty well had the basics down by the time I got home from the shop, about half an hour and 20 mi. The 200 mi. runs were solo so I got the opportunity to stretch her legs and learn what she'd do, or not. The only real surprise was when I let her roll backwards down the driveway from the garage to the road, about 65' with a good slope. She developed a horrible front wheel wobble the had me clamping on the binders in a hurry. Has anyone else experienced that?

Once on the road she handled like I expected her to. No front wheel wobble going forward at any speed. The twisties I was able to find (that's hard to do in FL) taught me that flat cornering wasn't bad at all. For now I'm running 41# in the front and 26# LR, 28# RR as the shop recommended. With more experience I can see myself joining those of you who say you have to be careful not to out run your 2 wheel friends in the twisties. I can't wait to try that with my son and his VTX 1800 this July.

talked to a fellow about 50 miles from me with a vic and
csc kit. has put 30000 miles on it. 66 years old and loves it.

how is the power compared to the 2 wheeler ?
the pipes srill concern me. i know my beeter half wants
quiet. that would be the swaying point to try roadsmith.
dealer in ia said they would have a retired lady bring
her rs converted vic over to ride, so now i have a
reresentative of both to try if it warms up. rs uses
stock pipes. all the other brands do but csc.
im glad youre lovin yours . thanks for all the feedback.

Irv, the power is "OK" but my Voyager is stock with a K&N air filter. If you are a more aggressive rider you'll be looking for ways to overcome the extra 300# and wind resistance. If you're a sedate rider you'll notice the difference but should be able to live with it. I'm going to follow the latest trend and have my ECU flashed by Ivan. If you haven't seen the threads regarding his work look on either the VBA forum or the Vulcan forum. You'll find similar info on both boards but VBA has more info.

Pipes are a very personal thing, as you know. I would make every effort to get some personal time with a CSC kit that has been installed. Take your bride with you and decide after that. Part of the decision to buy CSC, or any kit, is appearence. If you really like the CSC and the pipes are your only concern then talk to the installing shop about removing some of the baffles from the mufflers. When I talked to CSC they indicated you get "acceptable" quieting by removing 6 of the baffles. If you've never ridden a trike it will be hard to concentrate on a good evaluation because your mind will be on not crashing, not being able to lean, not putting your feet down and OMG I'm in deep doodoo if I so much as scratch this trike that belongs to someone else. Riding a Vic RS with stock pipes will be an apples and oranges comparison. The Vic is probably quieter than your current ride.

Take your time and gather all the info you need to make a good decision. These things are too expensive to make the wrong choice.

the victory belongs to a lady older than me, i was told.
same bike as mine except it has a fairing and lowers.
didnt ask the dealer why they chose to be a roadsmith
rather than a csc dealer. they are one of the largest
in the US. sell hondas ,victories, and others.

I understand the willingness to offer up a Vic now. They want to push the RS. It still doesn't get you any exposure to a CSC which seems to be your kit of choice but with concerns over the pipes.

If you decide to ride the lady's Vic you may get spoiled and have to have a set of fairings too! ;)

i have 2 options open. 1 fellow with a cross country tour
with a csc kit and a lady with an identical one with a roadsmith kit. my wife will be there 4 both. and 2 factory
trailers from each one in may. all decisions made after all
that.big decision for the last bike we will own. lots of
money to spend for fun and not going to make the
vehicle worth a lot more. its not a wing or an ultra.

both of these people have put a ton of miles on there trikes
so you know they are both good kits. up to the seat of
your pants, eyes, and ears.
