Cruise

Back from what will most likely be our last cruise to the Caribbean for a while. Thought this would be a good time of the year to go - spring break over, kids in school, just us old folk to share a partially empty ship. WRONG!!!!!! Spring break may have been over for the US, but it was in full swing for Mexico! The ship was cram packed with teenagers running in herds everywhere. Plus, there were entire families traveling together. EVERY cabin was taken. Just too many people. Think we'll stick with the good ole US of A on three wheels for a while to come.

Headed for Pleasant Hill, LA at the end of the week to meet up with a high school buddy and the re-enactment of the battle of Pleasant Hill during the war of northern aggression. Then the hill country for flowers towards the end of the month. If the trip from Galveston to DFW is any indication, this should be a banner year for bluebonnets and other flowers.

Combine events and take a trike cruise. Ships leave between NJ and FL. Get off at various islands and ride your own trike on guided tours around them. One of my favorite vacations.

If you go anywhere anytime on a cruise ship, expect it to be crowded. They don't take those things out half full. You may get a break on the age range, but there will just be more adults and less kids, but the ship will still be pretty crowded.
