Considering Conversion HD Heritage Softail Classic

I have the opportunity to purchase a 2000 HD Heritage Softail Classic. If I purchase the bike I want to convert to a trike. Looking for recommendations on conversion kits. Right now I think I like the Frankenstein kits. Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you!

Hello & :welcome: to Trike Talk. :clapping:

I find them to be a well made kit, I had installed one on a Sportster years ago. If you want a hot-rod trike without a full body, this is for you.

I have done 2 sportsters, a ultra & a dyna, easy to install, they used to have the 10" wheels & handle really well, They are a Blast to ride, price is good, I always chopped the rear fender down, changed the rear taillight, & made my own exhaust to get it out past the rear axle. The downside is no storage, you can mount saddle bags on the sides or a tour pack.

Lady in our group has a Frankenstein conversion - it looks absolutely great.

On trips, even short ones, that thing beats her to death. I was behind her on one ride, and you could see every pebble that she hit.

My suggestion - ride one first.

I thought they ride better than a Tri Glide. Maybe shes got 40 PSI in the tires?

If I recall, there is little or no suspension. Then again, maybe it is just her trike

It has a swing arm, shocks, springs, most of the Frankenstein have a taller side wall tire so there's more cushion. Maybe ask her about what tire pressure she running ?
