comfortable seats

I never really believed all the kudos about the gel pad cushions available @ Walmart for around $20.
Finally bought one and can't believe how much difference it made!
Very cheap way to get a comfaortable seat.

I have an Air Hawk and it lets me ride about twice as far before I have to get off and walk around a little.

Went to TT3 for a total of 2325.5 miles. Don't think I could have done that comfortably without it.

Yea, I still got tired, but nothing like before adding the Air Hawk.

I bought a high dollar SaddleMens Road Sofa, and it sucks. It looks great, but is less comfortable than a 5 gallon bucket. Don't fit the trike well, either. :eek:b Had to modify things to hide the gaps! JMHO jimsjinx

I have the original GL-1500 seat on my Wing and I find it very comf. Some of the seats on client's 1800 trikes are down right hard as a rock , I won't mention the brand but I'm sure a few of you may know which one it is.

My Harley Hammock seat was great on this 2500 mile trip.

Ted, I looked at your bike several times at TT3. I wish I would have noticed your seat:confused:

I have been hearing good comments about it.

I need to check one out.

Hope to see you guys next year at TT4:yes:

Brian, We are booked for necy year. God willing we are planning on being there.

My Harley Hammock seat was great on this 2500 mile trip.

TED what year is your Road Glide I tried to buy one for my 03 Road Glide the dealer says they only fit 08 & up ?? I have 2 Road Zeppelins a leather & a vinal I think for the money they suck, you pump them up & they just get harder the front of the seat is to wide. Everybody claims the hammock seats are great, it sounds like something Harley would do You want a good seat You have to buy a new bike ???

Road Dog my trike is an 07, but I converted a 08 6 gal gas tank to it which required the coversion of the seat to an 08 or later. I then went to the Hammock when they came out with it last year.

I have a Russell Day Long and love it! Just did a trip to GA, easy 700+ miles w/o discomfort :D. It's on the expensive side, but IMO you get what you pay for.

Thats a big challange? I had a 08 tank & set it on the bike looked like a lot of work ???Do you have any pictures of how you did the rear mount on the tank & the front seat mount ??? I would like to put a 6 gallon tank on mine?? THANKS

Road Dog a little busy right now but I will try and post something in a week or so on the tank.

The $20 Walmart cushion is a winner indeed. I will ride maybe 200 miles and then put it in the trunk just to feel a difference, but its the best twenty dollars I have ever spent. A buddy of mine bought a Russell Day Long and actually did not like it so he took it off. I don't know whether he ever sold it or not, just commenting.

The stock seat on my VTX 1300 was just terrible. 25 miles and I was hurting. I replaced it with a Mustang. I CAN ride much farther, but it's no where near as comfortable (at least for my butt) as so many seem to claim. It's not enough improvement for the price. But I'm getting sick of spending money. So I'll keep it for awhile.

They make a good seat, but hard to deal with. Bought a denim covered new seat with a backrest. The backrest was so small it was like leaning against a pencil point. I had to pay to have it replaced and they replaced it with a vinyl covered rest.
Terrible customer non-service.

I remember the day that you came into to the store in Daytona and was looking at the black denim 3 piece seat set but you didn't like the price. You pulled the I'm a veteren card and wanted a discount which the owner was happy to give you. Then after he agreed to the discount you only wanted the seat and the drivers backrest. We normally do not split custom seat sets but the owner agreed to do so for you which left us with a black denim passengers backrest that you said you could not afford at that time and would purchase at a later date, which you have not. The riders backrest that you purchased at that time was the normal size that we have for every seat that we sell. A few weeks later you contacted the owner and said that all of your friends had larger drivers backrests and would he make you a larger one. He agreed to do so out of vinyl at a discounted price and you said that the vinyl was fine since your passenger backrest was vinyl. Within the last few days you have contacted the owner once again and wondered why we sent you a vinyl drivers backrest pad instead of the black denim. When we made the special drivers backrest a few months ago for you you were completely fine with the fact that it was going to be vinyl. The owner told you a couple of days ago he would make you another backrest and this time it be black denim but you would have to pay the regular price. Now that you have not gotten your way you have decided to post negative comments about the company and the customer service.

We feel that we have done as much as we could to satisfy you short of giving you the complete set for free. The owner tries to satisfy all of his customers but it is a business and there has to be limits set or the business will not be successful.
I don't know about you but I am well known on this board and people know that I don't go around bashing others but it really upsets me when someone starts talking bad about a product or their customer service and doesn't give all of the details. I am sure that others who read this post will agree with us that Ultimate Seats has made every effort to make you a satisfied customer.

I am sorry that you feel that companies owe you something special like discounts and products since you are a veteren but I am also a veteren and do not feel that anyone owes me anything because I am except for respect. I joined the service to protect my country not to be given everything or anything because I did.

I liked the Corbin that came with the trike, Gloria hated it. So now we are lovin' our Diamond seat. They were good to work with, and long days in the saddle are a breeze. As the Diamond was custom made for us ($$, but worth it) it's more comfortable than the Corbin was. Much better than the stock seat we used a while before we got the Diamond. Yes, she hated the corbin that much. We both agree it is the best money spent on the trike.

Don't forget to take into consideration that seats can be personal preference like everything else. Jimsjinx had a Saddleman Road Sofa & hated it. I have one too & love it. I have NO problem running a 500+ mile day & sometimes several 500 mile days in a row on it, while evidently he did. Then too, I had a custom cover put on mine which let me give them my height, weight, & inseam length so it fits me -- all for the same on line price they show for all the Road Sofas. Another supplier wanted $200 above the posted on line price, so you have to watch for that too. It's what fits you best that makes a seat comfortable along with the padding, cover, & the way it's made. If it diesn't fit, it won't be comfortable on the long runs.
Had LePera solo on my last trike and never a problem. Previously had a Corbin Gunfighter on a Kaw 1500 Classic and loved it. Presently have stock on a Deuce and can't ride more than 1 1/2 - 2 hours. Used Gunfighter on the way.
