Come say Hi to me

Hi Folks,

I joined the site a couple of weeks ago and finally getting around to introducing myself.

I'm a total noob when it comes to trikes-in my typical fashion I bought my trike (Suzuki c50/Lehman) before I even had a clue how to ride. I've never driven a bike, never even had the desire to get on one.

Then one day my husband got the "I want a bike" fever and bought a Vulcan 900. Well, you know he was having too much fun without me so I started looking around for a trike. I figured a trike would be safer for me and besides I'm old. ;)

I made him ride me around for a week before I got the courage to get on it and ride it out the carport about 10 ft by myself. In the past week I've graduated to riding it down to the courthouse to practice figure 8s. I'm still in the "tootling" stage, but getting braver every day. :woohoo:

BTW, thanks to whoever posted about practicing the figure 8s with my right hand in my hip pocket. I found a $20 that I didn't know I had! :)

Anyway, I just wanted to say HI! to everyone, sorry for the long post. :blahblah: I love this forum and all of you guys/ladies are great!

Hey Misty! Welcome to the family :D. Sounds like you are taking your time to get comfortable and familiar with the trike -- good for you! That's the perfect way to build up to the rides you will soon be taking.

Hmmmmmm. Maybe I'll go back 'er out of the garage, put my right hand in my hip pocket and see if a $20.00 appears. Hope it works!!! :D :D

Hi, Misty! Welcome to the Forum! I'm strictly a passenger, but have just as much fun as my hubby (ScalpHunter), as long as the wind's in my face. You'll be leading the pack in no time - glad you're having such a good time! We go thru Eldorado en route to Big Bend, so you're about six hours from us. Enjoy the trike - join Trike Owners International, and continue to let us know your progress - we're so proud of new owners like you!!!

Hi Misty....your story sounds sooo much like mine right down to the Lehman C-50 Boulevard trike. Bought my trike the same day I got my motorcycle learners permit...tho didn't have a clue how to ride anything. That is what I am sitting on in my Avatar pic.....tho I now have a Harley trike...I still loved my C-50 Boulevard trike.

It took me a while to learn......not sure what the road block in my mind was.....guess I got tired of looking at the back of my hubby's head. Now he rides his 2WMC...and I ride myself on my Trike. I never plan to ride 2 wheels, but I went and got the 2WMC license...just in case my husband falls down.....cuz I know I never will now. :Trike1:

So welcome....

welcome aboard and you will love that trike. keep at it.

Hi there from another Suzuki/Lehman rider!! You're gonna love it - just take the time to learn correctly, and you'll be on the road in no time at all!!

Just remember to keep us updated on your progress so we can cheer you on, and oh yes - - pictures please!! ;)

Thanks everybody for the warm welcome! I'm trying to ride a little every day, I put about 8 miles on the trike yesterday just practicing figure 8s, turning, stopping, ect. I'm scheduled for my safety training class May 14 & 15 in Cedar Hill which is right outside of Dallas. I really wanted to take the trike course and even though it is 5 hours away it is the closest one I could find.

Blondie, I have joined TOI, even have the shirt. I plan on wearing it to the class, maybe I can drum you up a couple of new members.

Skuuter, If I find a $20 with your name on it, I will be sure to get it to you.

To everyone else, thanks again for the welcome. I'm sure I'll have a million questions for you as soon as I know enough to have questions. :GrpHug1:
