cold starts

Hello fellow trikers

Would like to know when you start your VW trikes the first thing in the morning do you find it running rough.?

After warming up tends to run just fine?

The question is more for those that live in colder states... I know when it is warm it starts and runs fine.

My 1965 is a bear to start below 40 degrees.
Once it warms up, it runs like norm.
I have wondered if the old motors had
A manual choke

mine is hard starting when cold and runs like crap til it warms up, no choke

Seems like they all start that way...at least that is what the response I am getting

Mine's got an electric choke and it runs the same way when it's colder out. Rough as a cob when you first start it, then it's fine after it warms up a bit. Runs just fine from the start during warmer weather.

Glad to hear mine is not the only one. I started to think I was having issues.

same thing when i lived in colorado and had my 65 karman ghia, ran like crap in the winter til it warmed up.

Almost any carbed engine will run rough when first started VW or whatever,,, what I like about F.I. engines
