Ladies & Gents ...

Would like to add a chrome trunk guard to my 2017 Freewheeler. I have been looking at the HD model and thought it was the way to go. I have had a chance to check out this trunk guard by Cobra and I think this is the better way to go. Not only is it $50.00 less (which is not my primary inspiration) but I also like the black powder coated mounting hardware with my black trike. I think it's a classy look imho. Anyone have any experience with the Cobra guard? I also think it looks like it mounts closer to the trunk or is that just an illusion? Any input is always greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Rivco makes the HD bub https://www.rivcoproducts.com/shop/bargain-bin/chrome-rear-bumper-for-harley-davidson-tri-glide/ Rivco makes the HD bumper

Powder Coated Mounts

Rivco ‘Says It Won’t fit Freewheelers! But we all know how that works ..Sometimes they lie😉😉..

I have the Vance & Hines slip on pipes with the double slash cut ends that extend past the trunk. I think the HD chrome mounting bars take away from the chrome pipes. The big draw for me with the Cobra guard is the black powder coated mount

Never have seen a Black Trunk Guard but have seen Black Rubber car body molding used. Not my fave. Although this guard is chrome (which I like) you can see that the mounting brackets are powder coated black ... nice touch.

As I am not a serious gambler....if the manufacturer claims something will not fit....I will accept that, not necessarily as Gospel...but possibly more as a liability statement. Cobra Trunk Guard is also my choice. PartsGiant.com sells the Cobra Trunk Guard for $228..no tax...free shipping. Ordered mine while I await delivery of my FLRT. Plan plans...don't plan results. Simply my 2 cents worth.

Cobra Trunk Guard installed

Today I installed the Cobra Trunk Guard purchased from PartsGiant.com. I think it looks great and the installation instructions were very clear and concise. The hardware is excellent and with a bit of patience and my Proto Torque Wrench, everything went together without a hitch. Hoping to add a photo of the rear of the trike for everyone's consideration. Indeed the chrome appears to be excellent quality and the powder coated brackets are extremely nice. :) 20230412_145949.jpg And yes...I have found storing my FLRT on its side saves some garage space. My excuse for the photo being sideways. 1st attempt at posting a pic...D- at best.

When I was looking for a guard the Cobra is the one I had settled on. I haven't bought it yet, but I do like the looks of yours. The black powder coat hides the brackets quit nicely. Think you made a good choice.
