Will I am looking to get the Cobra mufflers for the FW. I have had them on both of my other bikes and really am pleased with them. I know they are high in price. What do you all think? I hope someone has them and can comment.

I have Cobra slip on mufflers and Cobra head pipes. I am not impressed with the Cobra head pipes, I believe I lost some low end torque with them. I had Fullsac head pipes before the Cobras and felt it was much better. I had the Cobra slip on mufflers with both, the mufflers sound great and are great quality, something I also felt was lacking in the head pipes. The head pipes did not fit well rubbing the brake clevis pin and was next to impossible to solve. Bottom line I would buy the Cobra slip on mufflers again, also they look great.
I hope you can decipher my rambling.

glad you jumped in, I'm looking at the cobra headers, and from what there saying there like running a 2 into 1 as far the power curve, now after what your saying i'm starting to have my doubts, did you get the power port dual ?

Yes I have the one with the as they call it power port. The passage between the two is small and in my opinion does not help scavenge very well. If I had it to do over I would use the Fullsac DX pipe I believe those with the Cobra slip on mufflers sound better as well.

yes that's the ones, thanks for the heads up ;)

The Cobra slip on freewheelers mufflers are very nice indeed and I looked at them real hard, they also sound very nice.. I went with the D&D 3 1/2" Touring mufflers with the 2" diameter vortex baffles instead and I like them a lot.

The only reason I chose the D&D mufflers over the Cobra mufflers was the baffles in the Cobra slip ons where 2 1/2" in diameter. I have found more often than not over the years when you go to a bigger baffle than a 2" diameter in the mufflers on a stock Harley motor you tend to loose a little bit of low end torque. I just did not want to take the chance that the Cobra mufflers larger baffles would affect the trikes low end torque.

Manufactures today because of the catalytic converters are going to bigger baffles to get the sound out of the mufflers. I think for the most part this is because of the muffling affect of the catalytic converters. It's a well known fact when the cat is removed the exaust system gets louder.

Ride Safe,
Bill G
