Coal Powered Harley..

WOW.....:xzqxz:...just "a thought", but under the Present Administrations GREEN Policies, this "probably" makes H-D eligible, at some point, to "Freebie Tax Payer Funded Grants" like the Chevrolet VOLT, etc. .......;)

Back in 1973 [oil embargo] I had an Electric bike, Worked great, The only fly in the ointment was when I made ''U'' Turns the extension cord would tangle in the rear sprocket....:D
What it really needed is an cordless extension cord....That was one of Tesla's ideas...
Some say he had it... But it got lost in time...???

When I was picking up my TG from service at HD earlier, the mechanic showed me the video of this electric bike. He says they might sell it as soon as 2015. He also showed me that the newer batteries for standard bikes are super light now. He said they are lithium.

Won't be too bad, You just pay for it in Carbon Credits....
[Rob Peter to pay Paul]

I'm here with my hand out!
perhaps I could use the money to fund a coalition to ban electric Harleys, God I wonder if AMF is making a comeback?:kpzxvq:

I wonder if they will come with a deck or two of cards so we can clamp them to the frame & into the spokes so they sound right ???
Or would that be too much noise pollution......?:pepper:

Just what I want at my age,, a Harley Davidson crotch rocket. Based on what I saw, kinda tough to pack for a long trip.

I can see it now,,,,, TriGlide with dual rear axles so you can haul around enough batteries ! Because Harley won't let ya have a trailer !

Did you guys / gals ever consider they are not making it for guys/ gals that ride Harley's now. They are going for a different market. They are going for people that don't like loud motorcycles , that don't want to shift. I have a 250 CF Moto. Automatic. Sounds electric gets 70 MPG and goes 65 Mph. It is a blast to drive. Everyone doesn't want a Harley. Every short petite woman that see it wants it. Easy to ride and inexpensive to own. For some people 110 miles is a good range. My wife commute is 40 each way. Some business are setting up special parking with free charging for employes. There is a whole network of free and low cost charging stations across the country.

I have heard they are already designing aftermarket items for this bike. $1,300 upgrade. A deck of cards for one year of awesome sound.
Disclaimer, not all cards are the same, and some may require new breather (SE Diode), and of coarse a tuner (resistor, to control efficient oscillation / and impedance).

i agree that they are marketing it towards younger folks. By the way, you do know that this bike is a Harley right? Just asking because you stated that "Everyone doesn't want a Harley."

As for the charging stations across the country, I challenge you to come down south in the country where I live and ride and find a charging station. I ride from VA to SC every month and there are zero charging stations of any kind on my 500 mile route.

Your right not all cards are the same' some are thicker than the standard size, The thicker ones will give you a better sound, But because of the extra friction you will lose about 10 MPW's

I had an added comment, but I have learned to just lurk and smirk.

You will also have to use Harley approved issued cards. Without the official MoCO logo, & made in China your drive-train warranty will be voided !!:Dorag:
