Chrome Wheels Pitting

When I had my wing converted to a Roadsmith HT1800, I chose the chrome wheels. It's only been 9 months and the chrome is pitting. What's up with that? I'm 500 miles from the dealer that did the conversion so letting them check it out, while isn't totally out of the question, would be somewhat of a hardship on me.

The fella who does support is out until Aug 12th at Sturgis. You might want to phone them and see if someone else can help out on the pitting chrome but I bet it will still be a problem through next week...
