Checking Oil Levels

I have a 08 ultra classic with a hannigan kit, how do I get a true check of fluid levels? Book calls for the ultra classic to be on jiffy stand. Anyone got a handle on this? Thanks

Look on your dip stick. On some touring bikes the back side has a reading for a sidecar install. If not you might want to find one that someone else has and then transfer the marks to your dip stick. The one that I have the mark is close to a 1/4 in lower then on the side stand. I will look tomorrow and see if I have another one like that and give you an exact measurement.

Sounds great! I checked and there isn't a second mark on either the trans, or motor oil dip sticks. I could make a mark on the dip sticks if I knew where. Thanks again.

Over filling may lead to blow back from the air cleaner. Cold it should read about 1/2 quart low. 3 & 1/2 quarts for an oil change with filter is about perfect.
