Changeover from bike to trike

Greetings All,

Picked up my XVS1100 trike on Saturday. Scared the crap out of me for about 10 mins. Thinking of changing my front tyre to an Avon AM9 Road Runner.
After having 4cm of my tibia replaced from an accident on two wheels, decided to go 3. Looks great.
Will upload pix soon.

Regards,
Richard.

Hi Richard. There definitely is a learning curve when changing from 2 to 3 wheels and a new style of steering, but it is fortunately not a long one. A few days of practice, riding in empty parking lots and quiet roads and you will suddenly find you are having a wonderful time! Enjoy :)

Thanks for the welcome guys. My kit is a Triwing with repro '32 Ford wirewheels on the back from Pete Paulsen and 215 60R15 tyres on the rear.
The kit was put together by members of the Rebels MC here in Northside Brisbane, including the repairs from the accident, and a repaint to original colour (without the dinky flames).
I did get more confident riding it around the industrial estate for half the morning.
I'll be taking "Brutus" out on the weekend - to test my mettle in traffic.

Welcome Techops practice will make all the difference.Post pics when you can would like to see those wheels.RIDE SAFE

Welcome from a couple of gimps on 3 wheels. Wife converted from 2 to 3 wheels after Chemotherapy left her feet numb.... alive, but couldn't tell if her foot was down solid, thus her trike. I went 3 wheels after open heart surgery and joint problems made holding my Harley up very hard. DON'T GET DISCOURAGED! It is a huge transition from 2 to 3, lots of old, bad habits to forget. Once you get a bit more comfortable the world is out there to be discovered! Wife put 17,000 miles on her trike the first two years she owned it.

Was in Australia 40+ years ago, R & R from Vietnam. You have some beautiful country to explore on those new 3 wheels!

I just want to say that "Brutus" is a misleading name for that beauty! VERY nice :)
