Champion Residual Valve

Has anybody had any problems with their residual valve on their Road Star conversion? I've tried everything I can think of and I still don't have any brake pedal and no rear brakes. I have a MC rebuild kit on order but the brakes worked fine before the conversion and the MC is only a little over 3 yrs old. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks
