Cargo Trailer

I started out with a Piggybacker trailer (economical) and pulled it all over the country with no problems, sold it to a buddy who is still pulling it. I then bought an Escapade (CSC) and pulled it to Fl. several times, decided I wanted a Hannigan to match my trike and its been in 44 states plus Canada. These trailers all pulled good but I did not like the air shocks on the Escapade. Check out the motorcycle trailer forum at

I have a Donkey trailer and just love it. It carries anything I want in it, specially my golf clubs. I have loaded this trailer to the gills and it pulls like you would not know it is behind you.
Good luck, trailers are a person's special choice, so what is good for one, may not be what you are looking for.

I built one very similar to the Harbor Freight "Tag-Along". I narrowed and shortened a larger HF trailer frame (that I bought used) and bolted on a Sears car-top cargo box. Now HF sells one just about the same as a complete unit. It doesn't have much bling, but it worked just fine towing from Lodi, CA to Phoenix and back last spring. The only thing I did different was to switch out the Chinese bearings for US-made. If you take apart the hubs and lube the bearings with real wheel bearing grease, you'd probably be OK with the Chinese bearings, at least for a while. It doesn't look like much, but it's a lot of trailer for $400 less 20% coupon.

Having said that, I just bought a nice used Aluma, so I'll be selling the one I made. Nothing wrong with it, I just liked the looks of the Aluma.

We, too, have an 08 GW CSC. Went to the CSC / Escapade factory in Virginia a couple of years ago and picked up a matching Elite trailer, then had the wonderful Tom Rich pinstripe it to match the trike. Have put over 20K miles on it so far, multiple trips back and forth across this wonderful country, from Virginia to California and back again to Central Texas. We recommend the brand and the factory team without reservation!!
