Can you trike a softail?

I guess that kinda says it all.

I'm thinking about getting a two wheeler with the thought in mind of maybe triking it down the road to give my TriGlide a running buddy.

Outside of an Electra Glide or even a Road King (too expensive if I'm gonna trike it), would a softie be an OK candidate or should I stick n the Dyna category? Reason for asking about a softie is the floorboards. I had a 2011 Dyna and never got used to the mid controls. I know you can extend them, etc. but they still aren't boards.

I have a Dyna triked , but check the posts just below this one "Heritage/Frankenstein Trike" thats a SoftTail or the "2006 Sporster Frankenstein conversion project" post. Personally I perfer the exposed shocks for ease of ride adjustment. By the way I put boards on my Dyna, I dont know if you can see them in the pic, and kept the mid pegs so I could have different positions for long rides.

Here's my Crossbones with Frankenstein rear end. Easy swap.

I have a 97 Heritage Softail with a 07 Lehman kit on it and love it....I am new to riding...never rode a 2 wheel so nothing to compare it to....am short and am able to easily get on and off ...nice and low....hope this helps am hoping this comes through with pic so you can see it

scotty that is a great looking trike & looks like it would be a blast to ride. You must get mobbed every time you stop for fuel or park it.

Thanks. It's fun and everybody seems to dig it....even the trike haters!

Here's a pic of me and the pooch (Dixie) on the road.

Scotty-that looks cool, did you fabricate the truck bed on it? Also, I haven't run into any "trike haters" yet have you had experience with that?

A local guy did the truck bed fabrication. Here are some pics:

By haters I mean those people that make comments like "I hate trikes, but that one looks cool" or "trikes are for geezers or girls but I'd ride that one" etc., etc.

Yeah, when I was exchanging emails with the pinstripper I sent him some pics. He replied "nice looking trike." When he got here and I raised the garage door he just stood there a moment looking at the rear of my Electra Glide/CSC Daytona. Then he slowly walked around it a couple of times, stopped, looked at me with a grin on his face and said "I don't normally like trikes but - - -dayum." Took it as a compliment. :D
