Campgrounds in the Buena Vista, CO area

I know it's early but starting to put together a motorcycle trip for next July. Most everyone will be camping, some in Bunkhouse campers and others in 28 - 32' toy haulers. Have found 2 campgrounds with favorable reviews, 1 being Snowy Peaks RV Park and the other Valley RV Park. Would appreciate comments about those 2 or others in the immediate area. Any campground we use will have to have clean restrooms/showers as well as electric hookups and water. Your suggestions will be much appreciated.

Katfish16,

Appreciate your info. Besides the ones mentioned above, I found another, Arrowhead Point Camping Resort. Supposedly, they charge for making online reservation but reviews otherwise not bad. Looks like there are maybe 3 choices but is one better then another.....

dssord,

I checked out your suggestion. Chalk Creek Campground didn't have bad reviews other then a little pricey but what really turned me off was a charge for using the showers.:censored: I don't mind paying a little more for a nice place with good facilities(showers/toilets) but feel like I'm being held up if I have to pay extra for using them. I noticed a couple of others do the same but many don't. So far, Snowy Peaks RV Park seems to be the best I have come across. Would look at any others suggested though.

Thanks again for your response.

We were at the KOA just north of Beuna Vista (up the mountain) a couple tears ago. Nice place with great views!!

Thanks oldbear. I couldn't find anyone who had recently stayed in the area so had to rely on the web reviews. Ended up making reservations at Snowy Peaks. Will try and stop by the KOA while I'm out there. Looking forward to having a great time.
