California Sidecar CV Axles

I have a CSC Cobra conversion on my GW. Conversion was installed in 2009. I bought the trike roughly 2 years ago. It has 55,000 miles on conversion. I have just the slightest amount of play in the CV axles. How many miles have some of you gotten on sxles before replacing? According to techs at CSC the CV halfshafts are from a 1997 Chevy cavalier you can purchase at most any parts store

I have about the same number of miles on mine and haven't replaced them yet so can't really help you with that but I do believe you're correct on them being from a cavalier. I have a replacement in the garage that I bought off of Amazon for a just in case situation, it's in the original box so I could give you the number if you need it. I bought it based on a buddy's recommendation when he replaced his. I don't recall how many miles he had on his trike but it was well over 100000 so I haven't been to nervous about mine yet.

Just thinking out loud about the cavalier CV shaft fitting the CSC. Are both sides of the CSC the same? I’ve never replaced a Cavalier shaft but I have put in several others and they are usually different left to right and standard transmission vs automatic. Got any ideas with of the specific cavalier shafts fit the trike

Talked with Scott at CSC last week. He confirmed the Cavalier half shafts. Even gave me the part numbers. GM 8049. Exact ones they use. Have talked with Will at CSC as well on various things and I can't say enough about they're Customer Service. It is top notch. Extremely nice, honest people to talk with. Can't wait to visit them in a week to see how conversions are built
