Today is the 250th anniversary of Rabbie Burns birth (The Bard). Today is the day to have Haggis, Neeps & Tatties. If you are having this, enjoy....:)

Address to the Haggis:

Fair fa' your honest, sonsie face,
Great chieftain o the puddin'-race!
Aboon them a' ye tak your place,
Painch, tripe, or thairm:
Weel are ye wordy of a grace
As lang's my arm.

Happy Birthday "Rabbie"! ;)
Jake, I think you have a wee bit of the bard in you too!

Happy Birthday to the Bard!

I'm a big fan of Burns, ever since I studied his Scots dialect poems when I was an undergraduate. And of course even we Americans still sing "Auld Lang Syne" on New Year's Eve. Enjoy your haggis today!

Lo, these many years ago while in high school, an english teacher taught us a trick to remember the Ploughman Poet's name. She said to think of a poet on fire, and that would remind us of Burns. Hmm - it's been a while - maybe she was talking about Robert Browning.
