Built in communication and Bluetooth

I am new to this Goldwing trike stuff. What are my options to integrate the wired helmet headsets with my cell phone, GPS, which may or may not be Bluetooth? Is the high $$ J&M the only option? Thanks.

I'm not familiar with Goldwing but if it has an accessory jack you should be able to plug a Bluetooth reciever in and pair it with your phone. Whether you can pair your GPS I don't know as I don't have one. I use my phone exclusively even with GPS stuff. But there is a good chance you can pair it as well.

You could install an accessory plug in your left side pocket for less than 10 bucks. The bike even has a plastic connector for it.

The down side to using the AUX input is that you are forced to use that input for all audio. The J & M unit electrically sets between the audio output and head set. You can listen to all audio sources then when the incoming audio is sensed by the J & M receiver it substitutes that for regular audio.

Both of my parents were in very poor health for years and we all felt relieved that I could be reached while out riding. I have had the same unit on three GL1800s now. Probably 150,000 miles and it has never failed me.

There are other units out there but I just don't know anything about them...

Is that a limitation of the Goldwing audio? Or maybe I don't understand the limitation you are referring. I have no trouble with my J&M on my Harley. I can receive calls, listen to music and still get turn by turn driving instructions. But I do only have one paired device. Is the multiple pairing when that plays out?

I was referring to the non J&M interface. As I said my J&M (CFBR-1800 Unit) is hooked into the system at the audio output and before the headsets so it lets all normal audio sources be used. If you have to select AUX audio input to receive the Bluetooth receiver signal then that is all you are going to have as a signal source at the time. See what I mean??? :xszpv::xszpv:
