If this has been answered before I missed it. Can you remove the speakers from the boom half helmet headset & just use the mic. & if you can, what is the procedure. Thanks

Why ? is it because of the half helmet ? I mounted mine on a half helmet and attached the speakers on with velcro tape to the side straps.

I have a couple sets of these. It seems like I buy new ones every year. The sets I have, have a bad speaker in just the opposite ears. Left is bad on one set, & the right is bad on the other. I was going to cut off the headset speakers & use the radio speakers.

I seem to have the same problem with only one side being bad. Bought my wife one of the new HD Premium Audio headsets; both sides work in it but I hate how they feel. Considering using the setup to change the Comm from headset to speakers. Only time we use it is for comm on CB during group rides. When she wants to tell me something she just leans over and yells in my ear! :D

Mark, That's what gets me too. I only use these on trips, usually 2-3 weeks. Then they are stored until next year. Sure enough mine or my son's will be bad the next yr. Most of the time when we are out on the road & have no other options but to purchase a new set. I'm cutting my speakers off & going that route until I'm out of the bad sets I have. Maybe by then h-d will make one that will last a lil longer.

I guess I'm lucky so far, had mine for over two years and still working.
