Boardtracker H-D update

I found this site while searching for info on the dealer near me that closed shop.

It really gripes me that the new owners ran it into the ground. Rudi Kutter worked hard to build a dealership, then after he was killed in bike accident, his wife opened an all new dealership in Janesville, WI close to me and it soared. It won numerous awards from the motor company and had a faithful following due to the numerous events it sponsored. The dealership sold to the Pomeroys who changed the theme to board tracker and before long the place was closed.

Corporate Harley cut off their credit line because they were selling bikes and parts and not paying back the corp. At least that is what happened according to the corp. They had a successful business, makes a guy wonder if one of them had an addiction and blew the money on gambling, or drugs, etc. So now, riders in my area have to go miles away to get service and parts.

Had to put new spokes on my bike because several were siezed and could not be snugged. I had to cut them with bolt cutters and lo and behold, NO PARTS from corp. Thankfully the Rockford dealer put out a search and found some at another dealer. A shop in Monroe trued the wheels up for me and I'm riding again before the snow starts flying. I bought some spokes from J&P which were not correct for the hub. Mine has the factory hub so I know it is correct but J&P showed theirs were a correct match. Therein lies the importance of having a reliable dealer near you. I lost three weeks of riding time messing with the missing/wrong spokes.

To their credit, J&P gave me a good price on tires. I bought the American Elites since they supposedly get better mileage and I really like them so far. They track straight and corner predictably. Haven't ridden in rain yet but that was highly rated by numerous others.

I sure hope the corp gets that dealership straightened out, that was a really great place to go for events. Always something going on. Now all the staff had to look elsewhere for work. Here it is August of 2021 and still no news on when or IF it will open.

Since I'm here, I'm gonna plug the Motorcycle Safety Foundation. I had been riding since 1964. The safety officer of the local HOG offered a discount on membership dues for anyone who took a safety course from MSF. So back in 2006 I signed up and I honestly learned a few really useful tips from that class. And just in time too. I encountered a cow in the road on a long left hand sweeping curve. The tips I learned at the MSF class were the only thing that saved me from a crash.

That's all for now. Ride safe, ride longer.

MDO Info?

I just saw this last update to this thread.

MDO, did you ever find a ESP that you liked that had the following wording in it that you questioned me about earlier?

His response to me was, "NO, they (Cornerstone) have been paid for their part of the money from the sell of the contract, and it doesn't matter what happens to the original "agent" that sold the initial contract. They will pay the claim if approved by the shop doing the work just like it always is.
