I've got a good friend of mine that currently rides a Triglide that has been more trouble than it is worth and is interested in getting a Wing Trike. Problem is he's almost 6 feet five with size 15 feet. He cannot even sit on a Gold wing comfortably at all much less operate the foot controls.

What did some of you big guys do when you purchased your Gold wing or Gold wing trike and what modifications did you make to be able to ride comfortably on the bike? I told him I would post this and provide him as much feedback as possible.

Thank you all in advance for any comments or suggestions that you feel appropriate.

What a friend Fred !!! :D

Some of the aftermarket seat companies can move the ride position back about two inches which will help. Then Roadsmith makes a "Comfort Foot Control" that will lower the foot position. Between the two your friend should be way more comfortable. :xszpv::xszpv:

Well Im 6ft 2in and size 15 feet. I wound up getting a Wingsoft large seat which moved me back 2 inches and up an inch. I added MBL risers to move the bars back and then finally added Kuryakyn Iso pegs to move my feet back to make it easier to shift and brake.

I feel his pain,at 6'7" and size 15 shoe I have the same problem. I had a 1500 GW that I rode for a year and a half and it wasn't terrible but a friend of mine has a 1800 that I can barely ride. Since the GW I have got a Yamaha Venture which has a lot more room. The Venture will give him a riding position like the Harley but with more reliability. As he well knows things aren't built for big guys, we just have to find something close and work from there! Good luck to him in his choice.

I have the Comfort Foot Controls......they move your foot forward 3" and down 1". I also added the Kuryakin mini floorboards that lowered the foot another 3/4".

I am only 6-2 , but I am a double amputee, I had my seat modified to set me back 1" and up 2". then we took kury floor boards , cut the bracket in half, add 2" inches, and had then rechromed. since I am an amputee, the forward controls would not work with my pingle shifter. rides very nice now.
