I went through 3 pigtails on my TG. Finally, one of my salesmen suggested relocating it above the heat deflector by my seat. Great location, don't have to bend down and it's away from the major heat of the engine!!pepper

I have mine running about the same way, and looped with the plug cap on the passenger grab rail.
Same with my heated jacket plug.ThumbUp

On my wing, I have the BT cable tie-wrapped to the frame from the battery and the connector pokes out just under the passenger floor board. With the floor board down, you can't even see it there. Works great! ThumbUp

I didn't know there was any other place other then tying it to the left passenger hand hold(closest to the jacket plug). I have the same plug for the charger and the Gerbing jacket. I also have a 25' coil cord so I can walk around the staging area and meet&greet riders on the Chicago Toys 4Tots ride.

Mine has always been by the oil fill neck, never had one melt yet.

Mine is located in the same place as M3. Never had a problem with it yet.

Some other great places to put it. Thanks ~ Don't know why 3 of them melted but as long as I didn't have to pay for it, I was happy! My dealership was happy to make it good for me and I didn't have to wait forever!

Mine located on left (clutch side) up under seat. Easy to plug in battery tender and plug-in for heat liner is on left side.

Our local HD installs the tender line when you purchase a motorcycle from them. They locate it going down the wire harness running down by your oil dipstick. The same place M3 is referring to I believe. I have never had a problem with it melting. Easy to get at.

Mine came stock with the plug by the dip stick. I asked them to move it to the other side so I could plug in my electric jacket liner. It would be very inconvienient if not impossible to plug it in on the right side. Plus the cord wouldn't melt if it layed across the pipes after a long ride.

Those without electrics don't have to worry which side the plug is on.

When I bought my 2012 the pigtail was already installed and I have not had any problems with it melting but just the other day I noticed that the heat of the exhaust has started melting some of the black tubing covering wires that lead to the rear of the bike. Might be something others might want to check. I am going to look closer tomorrow and see if the actual wires have been damaged.

I have always used the same adaptor for my Gebrings heated gear and the battery tender jr. Here's the setup I just installed.

Cost of this was less then $20.00 and no more wires to mess with.

Unfortunately I don't have those deflectors. I replaced them with leather "crotch coolers". I do have the 2-prong plug (Battery Tender/Gerbing)wire tied to the passenger handhold in that location though.

Wire plugs are not a problem for me and are not noticable.

I seen those plug in connections for the heated clothes..Great pics..No problems with the heat melting the back side of the plug??

No problem with the heat at all. Seems to have very good insulation around the wires.
