Well you've all been waiting for it-pics of the conversion I did on my 2003 Screamin Eagle RoadKing last summer.
The whole conversion took 4 months because of all of the horsepuky with the mfg of the kit. Once I finally got the kit, I realized there was no way to mount the body and called the mfg, to find out that they had not shipped the mounting framework. They told me I must have made a mistake, and it has never happened in 10 years of shipping these kits-I waited 2 additional weeks for these parts. Then I started to assemble the kit, and found out they had spaced the pulley wrong for my bike, making it impossible to line the belt up. Called them and they sent me proper spacers-more time lost and frustration. Without having experience at building bikes-I would have been screwed on this project!
Another big challenge on this kit was that I had to trim the body to my bike. I had never done anything like this before, so it took a while. The hard part was cutting the body around the side panels, that need accessing for fuses and electrical, and the wheel wells.
I have deliberately omitted the name of the mfg, as to comply with the "no flaming" rules of this forum. If you want to know pm me.
In summary I will say that I think it is a decent IRS kit, the trike runs out smooth and seems fine. It is a much more comfortable riding than my Victory pittboss trike with a Lehman straight axle rear end.
In hindsight, I wish I would have gone with a Champion, or other mfg. I base this on the fact that they don't require trimming of the body, as well as having customer service people.
