I'd be interested in knowing how the car tire in front handles as compared to a motorcycle tire.

The EMG wheel and forks were designed to use a car tyre.
Unfortunately the idiot that did the conversion used an asymmetric pattern that had a tendency to follow ruts.
During the strip down and refurbishment I fitted this symetric tread and on first ride it definitely felt much better.
Will put I in some miles over the weekend and get a better feel from it.

Who makes the EMG folks/wheel? I did a quick search and found nothing on these components.

EMG never respond, they will only deal through dedicated installers, unfortunately they don't seem to vet them very well as the only one I have been able to find in the UK is an absolute cowboy

I get between 28-30 mpg regardless of how we ride. Slow back roads or highway.

I managed around 35 on motorway run
Guess around 28 local seems about right

On my previous 07, I could get around 33mpg consistently when out and about. If I was running 65-75mph down the interstates, it would often drop down to 27-28mpg. Same with avg speeds and towing my cargo trailer although sometimes even a bit lower. The best I had done was when group riding and going easy on throttle, I could usually get in the high 30's and lower to mid 40's. By myself though, I unfortunately lack throttle discipline and so the gas mileage suffers.

On the GL1500's, the sweet spot is keeping the RPM's below 3000. That is where you will get the best mpg's. Venture above 3000rpm and mpg's take a hit.

I'm pretty much 65-70 from home to work and both my 1500 and 1800 get about 26 - 28.1500 got around 35 group riding in Maggie Valley I don't remember what the 1800 is doing.

Filled up and did a measured run
137ml. Then topped up to same level.
16.35lt.
Worked out to 38mpg UK gallon
Happy with that
